Garry Pereira

Born 1983,
London.

Garry Raymond-Pereira is a Norfolk based artist known for his mesmerising seascapes. Garry has experienced international success and his work is regularly exhibited around the world.

Each of Garry’s works begins with the location. The location is very important to Garry and one that he must feel a “calling” to. The crashing waves of the Norfolk coastline or the bleak mountainous areas of Scotland and Wales are a particular inspiration, as is the out of season Lake District!

Having moved from London to Norwich to study an MA at Norwich School of Art and Design, he was utterly inspired by the landscape, enjoying painting it so much that he decided to stay.
Garry feels that the planning, sketching and research of the subject are of the upmost importance. Once the research, drawing and title are all in place, the painting process ‘happens’.”

“Painting really matters to me, it always has. For me, almost a ‘calling’, it is an area that seems to accept me, unlike most others.”
