Jane Peart

Born 1959,
Oxford

Jane studied illustration at the London college of Art and initially worked as an illustrator. She later decided to devote her time to fine art and now works full time at the oxford printmakers as a technician and print maker.

She has exhibited the breadth of the country and has work in many prestigious collections including Oxford’s Ashmoliem Museum. The Oxford Area Trust commissioned Jane’s largest work to date, a 42-plate etching, which is hung in four of their hospitals.

Favouring the traditional medium of etching, Jane uses a fine sowing needle and acids to achieve exquisite detail.  Each piece is individually inked and pressed from the original copper plate thus making each number of the edition a unique piece of work.
