Alison Elliott studied and graduated from the Winchester School of Art and Newcastle Polytechnic. She has worked as a professional artist for most of her working life.
Scrutinising the techniques of the old masters, she has developed her style for handling and applying, oil paint in particular. She has dedicated her knowledge, international reputation and career to painting animals, with great emphasis on dogs and horses.
Although initially specialising in painting large-scale canvases she has more recently begun to create the most intimate and beautiful, pocket sized portraits. Each character is full of detail, accuracy, warmth and life.
In 2014, Alison won the Usherwood, Curwen Gallery Prize for Figurative Painting.
Alison does undertakes commissioned portraits, please contact us for further information.
