Michael Alford Artist

Michael Alford graduated in Modern Arabic and Spanish at the University of Durham, he then went on study at the Chelsea and Slade Schools of Art. His comprehensive cultural knowledge and draftsmanship have earned him a global reputation as a most sought after and distinguished painter.

Beautiful fluid brushstrokes and subtle palettes combine to portray serene yet exciting glimpses of occasion and activity. The sense is that of privilege as we view the sensitive and delicate compositions. Their spontaneity suggests a transience that demands instant and careful attention, should the moment be lost.

Michael’s work is exhibited world wide in notable galleries such as the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, Catto Gallery, London and Collins and Hastie, London. This has enabled him to build an extensive list of international private clients such as Trust House Forte, Claridge's and the royal family of Saudi Arabia.

In 2009 Michael was officially invited to be a War Artist in Helmand Province. This has led to commissions form the Grenadier guards including an oil study of Queen Elizabeth the 2nd. Since 2010 Michael has been exhibiting with the prestigious, Cork Street, Medici Gallery.
