Each Icon is an original piece of work painted in the traditional medium of egg tempera. However an icon is not work of imagination, but a repetition of a long-established image: the painter works from a prototype, careful not to introduce fanciful variations and innovations. Nevertheless every artist’s work has its own original style and character
