Andrew Farmer is an award winning, Yorkshire based painter and full member of the Royal Institute of Oil Painters, sincce December 2019.

He trained at Canterbury Christ Church in Kent and was awarded a first class honours degree in Fine Art Painting. This was followed by a Post Graduate at the Royal Drawing School in London, where he was awarded the Richard Ford Award for drawing. This enabled him to study for a month at the Prado Museum in Madrid.

In the past 3 years Andrew has enjoyed great success in being selected for Major exhibitions hosted by the Mall Galleries in London, including the annual exhibitions of The Royal Institute of Oil Painters, The New English Art Club and The Royal Society of Marine Artists. He has achieved and been shortlisted for a number of prestigious awards including the Winsor and Newton Award for painting, The Contemporary Portrait Award and the Haworth Northern Landscape award. Andrew received five awards in 2018 and was elected an associate member of the Royal Institute of Oil Painters.

Working exclusively from direct observation in oils, his subjects include coastal sunsets, rural landscape, portraiture, and still life.
