Susan’s prints capture wildlife in brooding skies, with her work reflecting a mood or
a moment using drama and detail.
Each mezzotint begins life on a fully grounded, toothed copper plate. The image is
created by burnishing and scraping the surface to form tone and shape . Each print
is hand printed on an etching press using Somerset Velvet paper and Charbonnel
This rich, velvety intaglio process shows Susan's passion for wildlife, especially birds and their mythology, and her love of stormy skies
